Frequently Asked Questions…

  • Raising Mum is for all mums, navigating their first 5 years of motherhood.

It is self-help consisting of psychoeducation, so that you can better understand yourself and what you’re experiencing, along with practical tools and strategies you can implement seamlessly within your life (without being another thing to try and squeeze in!), in an affordable, accessible and non-overwhelming way.

I offer self-paced, on-demand mini courses or live workshops for common areas that mums struggle with.

You may not need, be ready, or in a position for therapy - but you deserve the knowledge and tools that can be so helpful whilst you navigate motherhood.

  • No. The information in the mini courses, workshops and talks are intended for educational, self-help purposes and is not a substitute for advice, diagnosis, or treatment regarding medical or mental health conditions. The information provided is based on my formal training, continuing professional development, personal and professional experience, with the aim to scaffold you in exploring your own mental wellbeing. I am a qualified and BACP registered counsellor, which in the UK means I am not trained to provide medical advice or diagnosis. Always consult your GP before making any decisions related to your physical or mental health.

If you would like to explore if therapy could be for you I offer specialist therapy for mums through my private practice https://www.thewomenstherapist.co.uk/

  • The mini courses and workshops offer lifetime access to structured content that you can work through at your own pace.

Consisting of manageable videos of a few seconds to a maximum of 9 minutes long, and with access possible from your phone they’re ideal for dipping in and out of when you get a few minutes to yourself or are nap-trapped!

All Raising Mum content is more affordable than weekly therapy sessions, and provides psychoeducation and practical tools tailored specifically for the issue you’re facing.

The courses and workshops are generalised advice and tools, they are not tailored to you as a unique individual, like therapy would be.

The information provided is solely intended for educational self-help purposes and is not a substitute for advice, diagnosis, or treatment regarding medical or mental health conditions.

  • Each mini course is between 60-90 minutes long.

Broken down into 6 modules, each consists of manageable videos of a few seconds to a maximum of 9 minutes long.

Work your way through at your own pace, pausing and coming back to whenever you need.

  • Each workshop includes a private Facebook page for the week’s event. You can chat with other mums as the week and events go on.

Monday evening - 60 minute live teaching via Google Meet (a recording of this will be provided to all participants the next day).

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - short pre-recorded extra teachings and challenges will be shared on the private Facebook group and emailed to you, for you to work through at your own pace.

Friday evening - live 30 minute Q+A with me on the private Facebook page.

  • I recommend choosing the mini course that meets your most pressing need at the moment - be that anger, anxiety, overwhelm, guilt or a loss of identity.

You can always purchase further courses or workshops after this.

Some of the lessons, content and tools are re-used throughout the different mini courses. Each mini course has unique content that ties this all together and is specific to that mini course so I believe all are useful, whether stand-alone or as a collection. The courses that are most similar are ‘anger’ and ‘overwhelm’ so you may wish to just do one of these, though there is still a benefit to doing both.

The workshops will cover some topics, content and tools you’ll also find in the mini courses - again this is tailored to suit the workshop and I believe still a benefit to do alongside each other but you may wish to just start with one and see how you go or where your need is.

if you have attended a signature talk I wouldn’t recommend doing the corresponding workshop (same name) as whilst more is covered in the workshop many topics will be re-covered. Instead, I’d recommend going for another workshop or mini course.

If you are unsure which to go for please feel free to email hello@raisingmum.com and I’ll be happy to help you decide.
